Challenging, muddy, hilly, brutal but brilliant!

A terrific event - a slight departure from And-Over Trail Events ‘norm’ with an open start, which created a great, chilled, no pressure atmosphere. It was also interesting and fun to do an out ‘n’ back.

The course was b r u t a l ! In a good way!

I had a feeling it might be as the word ‘hilly’ doesn’t often get mentioned in the blurb for ATE’s races, if ever!

The way out is mostly uphill, and, obviously, downhill on the way back.

It was pretty muddy (given the recent weather), meaning the downhills back to the start were trickier than expected!

However, the weather didn’t spoil the beautiful views and it was a pleasure to run (plod!) around a part of the local countryside that was new to me.

And finally, I love the slate medals.

So, yet another And-Over Trail Event to add to my annual list of races!

Excellent muddy and hilly course

They aren’t wrong when they say challenging hills - also loved the rolling start
Great valve for money and well organised

Friendly, great scenery and so much mud!

Very friendly company. rocked up, collected number and off you go (rolling start from 10am -2pm for the 10 miler). Was really nice to have a rolling start. People were really friendly and the scenery was great. Some tough climbs and the slippy boggy mud made it a bit more tricky than I was expecting but it all added to the sense of achievement on finishing. Great slate medal and mini bus back to the start. Definitely recommend this event and will be back for sure! less sticky mud next time tho please ;)
