Join The Race Organiser for the 2022 edition of the well-established and much-loved Wigley Group Warwick Half Marathon.

 

Taking in spectacular, scenic views of the Warwickshire countryside, this undulating course takes place on fully closed roads so is suitable for runners of all abilities.

 

The stunning views, buzzing atmosphere and enthusiastic local support will keep you motivated every step of the way and with the final 2km slightly downhill, you can enjoy a strong finish to this unforgettable half marathon. 

 

Event merchandise is available for purchase during registration for collection at (or delivery prior to) the event, further details on which will be confirmed prior to the event.

 

Children must be aged 6 or over to participate in the Junior Race but buggies (or similar) are permitted for children aged 5 or under. Children under 11 must be accompanied by a responsible adult.

If you are a care worker or driver of an emergency vehicle and require essential use of affected roads during the hours of 8:00am to 1:00pm on Sunday 6th March 2022, please complete this contact form so we can arrange a suitable travel plan for you. Event Details

 

Licensing

The Half Marathon is expected to be licensed with UK Athletics (UKA) and the results published by Run Britain shortly after the event.

 

Bib Numbers

Bib numbers are available for collection at the event only, participants should not expect to receive anything by mail.

 

Results

Results will be uploaded live to our website (internet connection permitting) and communicated to all pre-registered participants within 24 hours of the event.

 

Rewards

All finishers will receive a medal on completing their event and, subject to a competitive field of participants, prizes may be available for the top three places overall - and the top place in each of the veteran categories (V40/V50/V60/V70) - for both females and males. Winners will be notified via email by the end of the following week where a presentation is not possible on the day, and once results are considered final. No prizes will be offered for the Junior Race.

 

Pacers

Subject to availability, pacers will be offered in the Half Marathon with target times between 1h30 and 2h30.

 

Facilities

 

Medical Cover

Suitable medical cover is provided at our events in case of a medical emergency. 

 

Bag Drop

Whilst we recommend bringing as little as possible, participants can leave essential belongings with us using the tear-off baggage strip on their bib.

 

Photography

Event images are expected to be available, usually within 24 hours of the event.

 

Water Stations

Water will be available on the Half Marathon route.

 

Toilets

Toilets will be available around the event village for use throughout the event. 

 

Changing Rooms/Showers 

There are no dedicated changing rooms/showers.

 

Other Information

 

Wheelchairs

This event is not suited to wheelchair users due to an undulating course from the start but participants wishing to compete, or with specialised equipment, are asked to contact us before entering to ensure we can accommodate any additional requirements.

 

BuggiesPushchairs and Strollers

As a UK Athletics licensed event, the pushing of persons in any device in the Half Marathon is prohibited under the UKA Rules of Competition - including, but not limited to - buggies, pushchairs, strollers (or similar) and wheelchairs. Such devices are permitted in the Junior Race only.

 

Spectators

Spectators are permitted at this event.

 

Earphones/Headphones 

Noise-cancelling earphones/headphones are prohibited and, whilst we discourage the use of other earphones/headphones in running events, participants choosing to use them should ensure they are set to a low enough volume that instructions from event officials can be clearly understood. 

 

Dogs

Participants must not be accompanied by a personally owned or controlled dog during an event. Entries may be accepted from participants with medical assistance dogs, subject to them being correctly registered and identifiable as such, and subject to prior approval by the Event Director.
