What type of footwear should I wear?

Trail running shoes are ideal due to rough paths.

Question 2

What are the start times?

Start Times: Marathon 9am, Half Marathon 9.15am.   START TIMES.   Maximum marathon run time is SIX HOURS.     The 5 mile Trail Run will start at 9.30am

Question 3

When do runners have to complete the races by?

The event closes at 3pm.  All entrants are expected to complete their events by this time.

Question 4

What should I do if I need to retire during the race?

Retirements: Except in an emergency, retirements should only take place at an Aid Station by reporting to one of the Marshals.  There will be limited transport back to the finish

Are there changing facilities?

Changing rooms, showers and toilets.  Hot food, cakes and drinks will be available at the Start/Finish.  Medical Assistance will be available across the course all day.

Is there any parking?

Yes, FREE car park available although limited spaces.

Entries open on the 3rd May 2026. 2027 will be held on Sunday 2nd May 2027.

Do Three Forts Support any charities?

Yes, we are delighted to support Ferring Country Centre and over the last eight years have raised over £80,000.  Ferring Country Centre is a local independent charity that provides meaningful training and work experience for people with learning difficulties.

Will there be anyone to help runners cross the roads?

Accepted Answer

Participants are responsible for their own safety, especially when crossing roads.  Suitable clothing should be worn.

Will there be a flush out massage available?

Accepted Answer

Yes,  Ingrid from sportsmassage-worthing.co.uk will be offering a 10 minute free pre and post massages.

Is there a bag drop?

Yes, this is available for 08:00.  A luggage label with competitors race number will be attached to any bag left and will be returned on production of race number.

Will there be filming of the event?

Yes, we are pleased to announce our videographer Marcus from https://www.media2u.co.uk/ will be filming on the day.

Question 16

Can I run with my dog?

Accepted Answer

Yes, absolutely.  Runners with dogs must adhere to the guidance given by Canicross.  Dogs and their owners will start with the main races, but dependant on the number of runners with dogs, a separate start may be necessary.

Can I get a refund if I decide not to participate?

Unfortunately, we do not offer refunds if you choose not to take part in the event. As outlined in our terms and conditions, all entries are non-refundable or transferable to the following year. We appreciate your understanding, as all proceeds from the event go directly to supporting Ferring Country Centre and other local charities.
