Enjoyed the route - will be back again

My first time participating (last year spectated due to injury) and enjoyed the course so will be returning. Coaches at the start were well organised but driver went the wrong way which delayed getting there. Cafe at Parley Hay missed a trick not being open as there were a fair few people wanting to grab something pre race and expecting it to be open as it was last year. The drinks stations were well manned and friendly but the finish was extremely underwhelming and needed to be kept a bit clearer (I nearly ploughed into an elderly lady who was wandering about in front of the chip mat after my sprint finish). Post race refreshments were much needed but lacking. Fab medal.

I came back for a second time :)

My run looked like being derailed, momentarily, when our coach driver took a wrong turn into Tissington village and had a heck of a job turning the vehicle round so we could get back to the main road. We made the the start line in plenty of time, though. We had great weather for our run back to Ashbourne. Cola and jelly babies at the second and third aid station were much appreciated. Good facilities, friendly organisers and (bus navigation error aside) a very well organised event.

Beautiful scenic flat trail run

I love this half marathon, on a fine day, the views are incredible and the race organisation is excellent.

A fabulous friendly race with amazing views, we even enjoyed perfect conditions!

The bag drop at the start was different to previous events so maybe worth advising people to have a 20p for a locker . But it was not a problem.
The medal as usual was brilliant. Thanks

Nice race, but has declined over the years

My Chip time was wrong, giving me the same as the Gun time (so chip time is slower by *at least* 18 seconds, compared to my club mate beside me, who crossed the start mat at same time).

The start was not very well managed, with slow runners clotting the starting for many. Lovely to see them and great they were there, but unless people stood on the chip mat itself (we were only ten meters back), there was a *big* clog of slow people to overtake. Giving them some idea of waiting zones to gather in might help. Also, we could not hear anything the marshal was saying on the loudspeaker, despite only being a few feet away.

Signage / marshalling could have been better at certain points - Darfield Lane in particular stood out as a bad point, as many of us were running straight through the car park because there were cyclists oncoming blocking path from the path on left, plus no sign to indicate the jink to the left was required. Marshals at the drink station, I overheard as I passed, saying "Why is everyone running straight on?". Well there's an easy solution, put a race arrow pointing left on the bollards as it exits the bridge into the car park, plus maybe consider a marshal too. I think the same thing happened to me two years ago at exactly the same place.

Finish point was a bit underwhelming this year. Almost didn't get my medal - had to ask! Also, we previously had choices of finishing "energy rewards" such as banana's and Lidl/Aldi sponsored sweets, such as mini mars/milky-way-bars. This year, a Jaffa cake and a cup of drink felt a bit "thin".

I don't want that all to sound so negative, but these things accumulate and, compared to previous years, it "lacked". But I would do it again.

Great course, beautiful views.

The coach driver took us to the wrong start point and refused to listen to to 70 people on the bus as to where the start point really was....the mile markers were out until mile 13 and the chip time was 38 seconds off the watch. Other than that...brill!!

Nice route- results take a while though. 1 hour post race and had an email that results are available but links to the website where the race isn’t yet listed. Would be good to get my result by email or text
