Now in its sixth year, this volunteer-led race is more than just a run – it's a celebration of community, history, and nature. In 2024, we smashed records, raising over £16,500 for local charities, and we’re aiming even higher for 2025! Every penny goes to carefully selected causes, with all proceeds distributed by the Woking Lions. The Martian Race takes you through the historic sandpits of Horsell Common, an area rich in natural beauty and steeped in literary history. Almost half of the common is designated as a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI), and we’re proud to run here while safeguarding its delicate ecosystems. Our commitment to sustainability is at the heart of the event, with carefully selected routes to protect the local flora and fauna, a strict litter-free policy, and a pledge to go plastic-free.
