Fantastic race
Love this event. There is an amazing atmosphere. It is very well organised and staffed by volunteers who all give up their time to make it such a memorable occasion. An excellent warm up session before the start.
I don't understand some of the previous comments. There were way more than 4 toilets, the race briefing was at the green, not the George & a huge maroon signalled the start of the race. You couldn't miss it.
Agree that a bag drop would be useful.
Three cheers for the Bonfire Society & selfless volunteers. ❤️❤️
Great atmosphere, really community event
Battel Bonfire Boyes organisation & Marshalling was excellent
Well organised and friendly.
Great atmosphere
Would be nice for a banana or a little something at the end, also need reminding that runners are coming back round so stay to the left at the start. We enjoyed it.
Brilliant. V well organised, friendly, great team organising roads etc, lovely medal, good coffee choices after, clean toilets, five stars, well done!
Hard work but vert worth it
Very clear route amazingly organised and of course an incredible atmosphere as always.
Road safety to consider
I would be happy to pay more for this super race if we could have road closures in the last mile and a half. When turning right out of the country road onto the busy road leading into the town, traffic was very busy and some drivers were impatient and driving too fast and too close to the edge of the narrow pavement.
Perhaps this section could be coned off or taped (or both). This particular last 2k (plus...) is predominantly flat or downhill and runners are trying hard to speed up to the finish and make up time lost on the hills. At this point runners are tiring but still full of effort, so do not have 100% focus on careless moves made by drivers.
Is there a detour available to send drivers heading away from town along another road? This may only be needed for an hour.
As the foot path on this section is narrow it isn't really possible to always stay on the path when over taking, so a few steps into the road is needed to pass another runner and then get back on the path once there is safe space.
All the other other issues I've been reading are minor compared to people's safety. Just one person to fall in front of a car and this race will not run again.
Best wishes, Tomm Brooker
Enjoyed this run
Very friendly and amazing marshals. Definitely will be back for another go.
Could do with more toilets. There could be an indication that the timing mat at the start was only on the left hand side of the road. It would be easy to start the race missing the mat.
Did not hear any starting gun and I has not that far from the front of the start.
Well organised
Brilliant marshals. Thank you.
However, just a tad disappointing that you called my name as winner of FV70 then few minutes later decided there was no FV75 trophy so took mine and awarded it to someone else in FV75!!
Hilly but lovely scenery
Marshalling was excellent. Atmosphere was great. A very friendly local race against the 1066 backdrop.
Nothing not to like .....except for the actual running bit!!
Excellent community race in a fantastic location in front of the Abbey
Great route
The finish line was a little unsafe because car were parting from the Abbey car park. Which was not very safe. That’s the only negative thing. The run and route was very good.
Tough but enjoyable race
Only down side not enough portaloos especially now moutfield carpark toilets are closed.
Picturesque Route
Picturesque route over some of the most historic countryside in British history. Second time I have run the BBB 10k, I enjoy the challenge of the course terrain and the rewarding downhill finish. The start was a bit ragged, unable to hear the briefing or the gun. Nonetheless a fun event hopefully I will be there for 2025.
Beautiful route friendly and well organised.
If you have never done it before then do it, you won't be disappointed.
Well organised, friendly, great route
Nice course.
Charming local race
Challenging course, in lovely countryside, starting finishing in a genuinely historic location. Well organised, friendly welcoming vibe, this race is popular with local clubs and local fun runners. Very well marshalled despite a couple of idiot drivers.
Only thing I'd say is 'more toilets please'.
Brilliant
The medal givers should have been a bit further back from the finish line. We had to stop so abruptly. Would have been nice to see a finish clock
Really enjoyed this race, first time I have entered this one and won't be the last. Very fast start and fast finish. Only slight niggle was I and other runners were finding the course was over, it was 10.15km/6.31miles
