Amazing event, very well organised

This is an absolutely fantastic event, so well organised and run. The only change I would put forward would be about the run route as it’s tight and not very good underfoot. The standard and late sprint at brigg use the pathway next to the canal, is there any logistical reason that prevents this?

Thanks for your comments. We currently choose not to have our run course along the river bank due to the number of road crossings, petrol station, supermarket entrance, that have to be negotiated to get there and back. Each would require a Marshall to make it safe, therefore at this time we feel the safer option is the current route although not perfect and we are looking to improve on the first section across the field.

Thanks for your review. We are constantly reviewing the run course, and at this time we feel this is the safest option rather than running towards Brigg town, however we are aware that it isn't perfect and we are exploring ways to improve it while still keeping it safe.

Easy route and very friendly

The Marshall in the transition area need to ensure bikes are racked in correct place as someone racked in my place which delayed me in my T2.

Brilliant event for all capabilities

The is was my first triathlon event and it was extremely well organised. There was a brilliant mix of skill level and they made it feel as though everyone was welcome.

Great event but I have a comment on start times

The Ladies/Others split. Look, I’m so far away from being a pro but because my swim stands up well I end up with pretty fast folks. This isn’t bad when start times were mixed but now I’m in the later wave as soon as I get out the pool I’m smoked by everyone who starts with and after me. I’d rather be starting with all the 10 minute swimmers early on and not an hour later.

Great first event!

I was surprised there was no tshirt within the cost of the race. Also, no marshals at transition after the swim to guide people into the correct area. Great organisation, wonderful volunteers, signposted well. Be back next year!

Thanks for your comments, we have taken the decision to allow entrants to choose to buy a t-shirt with their entry as a way of keeping costs down, not everyone wants a t-shirt. As a result our entry fee has remained the same for the past 3 years, even though the cost of putting on an event goes up each year. If you would like to purchase a t-shirt I have a few remaining please contact us.

Very friendly for beginners. Lots of encouragement from the marshalls and other athletes. Very well organised.

The grassed start and end to the run was not nice at all! Hurt calf muscle on uneven ground! Not your fault but the rest of the run was lovely.

Have/will always recommend Brigg Triathlon as a local sprint distance Triathlon suitable for everyone.

I have done this Triathlon a number of times and can see the pros/cons to the changes in run route, bike route and swim format.
You can’t please everyone but I think the organisers are open to the opinion of competitors.
