Challenging but rewarding

Would prefer a 9.30am or 10.00am start. Really makes a big difference for those who have to work weekends. Great Marshall’s, well organised, loved the challenging hills, a few hold up’s on the way but on the whole a very Big Thank to the race organisers and Marshall’s.

Fantastic fun tough trail race

Fantastic event. Loved it. Superbly organised with a great friendly atmosphere. Well marshalled who egged you on all the way. Cow bells are brilliant !

You cannot plan for the mud and fun. Even in trail shoes you will dance like bampi if the conditions are bad but this is what makes it so testing tough fun and exciting. Feels great to cross the line at end.

Loved the new course and the mud.

I have done this event a few times now and this course was much better than last year. One slight hold up but everything kept moving. The mud was awesome made for some interesting running and slipping and sliding. Shout out to all the marshalls too, they were brilliant and supportive as ever, they have done the event proud. I can't wait to sign up again next year.

Great race

Shame about the kissing gate delay but some of that was down to some runners not wanting to get their trainers muddy.

Enjoyable

Well organised with very encouraging marshals. Tough course, hills were hard work but very enjoyable. Would do it again.

Enjoyed the challenge!

Would prefer a mass start as a race rather than a staggered start which becomes a time trial. Altering the course to avoid the kissing gates would be good.
But a great event. Thanks.

Challenging

You should remove the first gate where bottleneck occurs and areas where there is thick mud, put wood chips or hay down to cover the area.

Great 10km race

The start needs to be staggered to stop the bottleneck at the muddy corner as we waited at least 10 minutes to go through

Challenging but great trail 10k, amazing scenery and hills, even in Essex!

We waited around 15 minutes to get through the gate section during the first lap. Perhaps increasing the time between the staggered starts would resolve this? Alternatively, changing the route? Thanks.

A unique challenging course with amazing

Really well organised. Hats off to Castle Point Joggers and the Nice Work Tram for organising a really unique event. Very rewarding having navigated the hilly terrain and deep mud.

As a consequence of the amount of hills involved this is unlikely to be suitable for a novice runner

At the start of the second lap it would be very useful to have two signs, one saying 'Second Lap', the other 'To Finish'. A minor point for a great, well organised race. Thank you.
