Next Race: 14/02/2027
The National Sailing Academy, Portland, DT5 1SA
Wonderful, but tough
The event was well organized and the marshals and volunteers were great through the bad weather. The course offers some great views but is very tough. If you are looking for your first marathon, start with something easier. If you are looking to build up to ultras, this is a great race that teaches you to deal with varied terrain, mud, hills, rocks, and some road.
Epic
A great event which is made better by th brilliant Marshalls and the lovely views. I’ll be back next year
Tough marathon but well worth it
so pleased to complete #10 on the full marathon, but think that I will need to be fair and drop to half next year.
In short massive thanks to all the marshals in truly horrid conditions for them. Asides from that I've completed the full 10x, I can't give a better reference than that?! Great organisation as ever, thank you.
Great race from Mark and the team
Na
Amazing as ever
Stunning views and very muddy. Great event as always!
Challenging but brilliant
Great half, tough due to weather, but one worth doing to challenge yourself. Will be back for the full next year.
Superb
A great event with stunning scenery. Weather can make it “interesting!” Definitely be back
Muddy Hell what a cracking day out
Fantastic event, great scenery mixed trail very friendly atmosphere technically difficult at times. I’d highly recommend the half marathon as it’s only one loop.
Tough but great.
My first Marathon but thankfully the training got me through, certainly not a walk in the park (especially with the recent rain and mud) but well worth it and an amazing challenge.
Not for the faint hearted
The half is doable by anyone with a reasonable level of fitness but do not expect it to be easy. There will be mud, it might be a lot of mud, the weather will likely by awful, and the coastal path is not exactly manicured. In other words, you have to earn the medal. So don't start whining if you find it too hard!
The organisation is brilliant, they won't mollycoddle you but they will give you a good race and the marshals are excellent.
For people who love a challenge
Brutal but rewarding race
Not easy but if you can pace smart with appropriate gear, you'll love it! Team are great as always
Great race from Mark and the team
Great event
Very challenging route, especially in rainy conditions , however beautiful views, friendly atmosphere and amazing marshals.Overall really well organized!
Fantastically organised and genuinely friendly staff and marshals
Very well organised and every single marshal that we spoke to was friendly and encouraging - despite being out in the rain for hours. A tough course on the day; for me it was mainly due to volume of mud on the 3km climb from the lighthouse up; even worse on the way back down because of the rain during the event and hundreds of feet having pounded through it ;-)
Great event
I just wonder if there is a way of altering the 10k route slightly to make it a 10k as the route comes up quite short but other than that its a great run. Maybe run around the the road instead of the steps or the long way around the Heights, just a thought.
Excellent race. Highly recommend.
Friendly, fun, well marshalled, Travelled 275 miles from Bolton to do this event. See you next year.
An excellent day out, didn't stop smiling all the way home
Great marshals friendly and enthusiastic. Tough course, plenty of fun.
Beautiful setting. Fantastic marshals out on the course.
I love the medal.
It felt well organised.
Good venue and set up for HQ.
Thank you.
