Unique and awesome.
I am intermediate cyclist. All rounder. Fed up of spectating I decided to give it a go. It was super fun. Not competitive. Pretty much all rideable (with a bit or running up a dune and down again) I really did love this event. It catered for all abilities. Event stands were good and range of food and coffee available. Parking well organised. Event info good. I just super loved riding the beach….so unique. People were friendly beforehand and on the course. Supportive etc. thank you. It was fab. X

Right out of my comfort zone on Sunday, but wow wasn't it great fun? The beach sections were the easiest parts, the on/off ramps into the dunes? Even the Pros walked! Covered in sand, mud and soaked in the Puddles of Doom, as Patricia Hodge's character in Miranda says 'such fun'! See you next year.

Stunning event - absolutely loved it!
Scenery was amazing, such a treat to ride on such a perfect beach with so many other riders. Bit of everything: gravel sections, hard packed fast sand, fun technical challenge in the sand dunes, mud and grass. Battle in the Dark was huge fun, with Exposure Lights available too.

I have the best time ever at BOTB. This is my 3rd year now and it gets better and better. This has to be in every cyclists top ten list. It’s awesome. Shame there isn’t two or three each year!

One of my favourite races. I haven't missed being on a single start line and I don't intend to miss one in the future.
I think the 2026 edition was the best yet; the course was enjoyable and testing in all the right ways, not really favouring any one particular type of bike. I enjoyed the rockier sections as they provided a 'classics' experience; not dissimilar to sections of Pavé in Northern France and Belgium.
BOTB is also timed well. It operates post CX season and prior to the majority of MTB or road races. It's the perfect event to get back into racing.
